| SMITH GENEALOGY ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS: |
1. Sarah Ruth "Sally" (Smith) Swiecki was an enormous help providing
answers at every turn. She was my "right hand". For example,
almost all of the Thurman family information was provided by her.
2. Bertha “Bee” Charlene (Meek) Smith was so very helpful in proofreading
my work, correcting numerous spelling errors and factual mistakes.
3. Chas. T. Carter, Jr. and Marilyn Carol (Carter) Clagett provided all kinds
of assistance with the Carter and Thurman families.
4. Ralph Raymond "Ray" Smith sent emails all the way from Wales with census
page attachments and information about the family of his grandfather,
"Elmer B. Smith" and the family of his grandmother, Myrtle Della London.
5. Clara Ruth (Pearson) Earnest provided excellent data on her grandmother,
Effie Mae Smith, and Thomas Spencer “Fighting Tom” Williams.
6. Barbara Ann Fulton Daughtry, granddaughter of William Harry Kennedy, was
a big help with Kennedy family data. The Kennedy famiy was the paternal
family of Clarence Edward Smith's wife Donnie Mae Kennedy and wife
Shirley Marlene Kennedy.
7. Patricia "Tish" Carolyn Gibbs Dixon has been studying the Gibbs roots of
her father, Carl Edward Gibbs. She received much information about the
Gibbs family from her seventy-seven year old aunt, June Gibbs Myers.
Although I did much of the "legwork" work in searching out census pages
and the like, her intitial research was an important place to begin.
8. Kimberly James, great great great granddaughter of James P. Gibbs, also
contributed to the Gibbs Genealogy.
9. Kathleen "Kathy" Louise Brooks Schott, granddaughter of Mattie Lee Smith
Brooks, was a big help with the Brooks Genealogy. She fondly remembers
her Grandma Mattie.

10. Many other relatives too numerous to mention provided me with useful
genealogy data on their immediate families.
