Request a CD:

All the data formerly contained in the CD which I sent out to relatives is now on this web site. I will, of course, supply any relative and/or family researcher a CD upon request for any reason. One good reason to request a CD is because you have a slow dial-up connection to the internet and screens just seem to drag slowly into sight. When the genealogy from the CD is installed on your computer, it is blazing fast. Another reason to request a CD is that you have no computer but want to print out a book, or you prefer to read the genealogy on paper and not on screen. I will be glad to provide any relative a CD at no charge. You may take the CD to any almost print shop and they will be able to print out the book. The only exception to this is the case in which they only use Mac computers at a particular print shop. You may write, call or send an email to me with a request for a CD. Please tell me how you are related to me and leave a mailing address.
Internet Explorer:

If your internet browser is Internet Explorer, to run this program under Internet Explorer requires the use of Internet Explorer 6 or later. Internet Explorer 6 applies to: Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP. Internet Explorer 6 will not run on Windows 95 because of Windows 95 file size. The genealogies may, I stress may work under Internet Explorer 5. I have run the genealogies pages on Internet Explorer 6, and they work smoothly. Internet Explorer is such a "kludge" of an internet browser that I changed to Mozilla Firefox some time ago. Currently I am running Firefox Version 3.0.13. It not only is a big improvement over Internet Explorer, but lacks the many security holes which hackers aim at Internet Explorer. If you are running an earlier version of Internet Explorer than Version 6.0, then you probably need to update your version at the Micosoft internet site.

To download the latest free Internet Explorer from Microsoft, click next:

If you are interested in obtaining the free Firefox internet browser which I use, click next: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

Because many of you will be using Internet Explorer, I have made sure that this web site works well with the Internet Explorer internet browser. One irony is that I wrote many HTML pages with Microsoft Word, saving as HTML files. Internet Explorer, also by Microsoft, had difficulty with most of these pages. I had to hack and rewrite numerous pages. It seems to be a case of the right hand not knowing what that nasty left hand is doing. Wake up Microsoft.
RootsWeb.com Copyright:

Three are several clearly marked web pages which were downloaded from RootsWeb. It does retain a copyright, but as a general rule, they permit the user to use the content for personal or professional family research. To read their limited use policy, click next: RootsWeb Use Policy
Adobe Reader Needed:

There are at several PDF (Portable Document File) files which require you to have Adobe Reader on you computer. Adobe Reader is a free program which may be downloaded from:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

By the way, if you ever want to convert a document to the PDF format, download PrimoPDF from the internet at: www.primoPDF.com. After installation, in your word processor, click to print a document and select PrimoPDF as the "printer" of choice. It works like magic and, instead of printing the document, a PDF file will be created. It is completely free. The PDF nomenclature means "Portable Document File".
Print Out A Genealogy Book:

To print out a genealogy book, you first need to download either the Smith PDF or Self PDF document. Click on “Download Smith PDF” or “Download Self PDF”. A setup program will be installed on your computer. Click on the icon and the PDF document will be extracted with its own icon. At this point you may delete the setup program. To view the PDF document, you'll need Adobe Reader installed on your computer. To find out if you have Adobe Reader or not, just click on the icon. Burn the PDF document to CD or save to USB Flash Drive and take it to your local print shop. The cost should be in the range of $20-28. The print directions themselves are located at the end of the PDF file in Appendix A. To read the "“Print Directions", click on the ?¦sign at bottom and view. By the way, if you have NO way to burn the PDF document to CD, ask the printshop to access this web site on the internet, download the PDF file, print it out and subsequently delete the PDF file from their hard drive.
